IP Address Lookup
Enter any IPv4 or IPv6 address to get geolocation data, ASN, ISP, organization, and network information. Also shows your current IP address.
Why use an IP Geolocation Lookup tool?
IP geolocation maps an IP address to its approximate physical location, ISP, and autonomous system number (ASN). This is invaluable for diagnosing connectivity issues, investigating suspicious login attempts, enforcing geo-restrictions, and understanding your server's egress IP. Leave the field blank to look up your own public IP. Combine it with DNS lookup and WHOIS for a complete investigation. More tools in the networking category.
City-level location
Resolves country, region, and city for any public IPv4 or IPv6 address using a regularly updated geolocation database.
ISP & ASN data
Shows the organization name and Autonomous System Number — useful for identifying hosting providers, CDNs, and VPN services.
Your own IP
Leave the input blank and submit to instantly look up your own public IP address as seen from the internet.
IP address classes
IPv4 addresses are divided into classes based on the first octet. Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) has replaced strict classful routing, but these ranges still appear in firewall rules and documentation.
| Class | First octet range | Default subnet | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 1 – 126 | /8 (255.0.0.0) | Large organisations — 16M hosts per network |
| B | 128 – 191 | /16 (255.255.0.0) | Medium-sized enterprises — 65K hosts per network |
| C | 192 – 223 | /24 (255.255.255.0) | Small networks — 254 usable hosts per subnet |
| D | 224 – 239 | N/A | Multicast addresses (streaming, OSPF, PIM) |
| E | 240 – 255 | N/A | Reserved for experimental use — not routable on the internet |
