Accessibility

Our commitment
it.you is committed to making its tools and content accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across all pages and tools.
We believe that IT tools should be usable by all IT professionals, regardless of how they interact with the web.
What we've built in
All interactive elements — tools, forms, navigation — are reachable and operable via keyboard alone.
We use semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA labels, and descriptive alt text so screen readers can convey meaning accurately.
Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios. We do not rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
The layout responds correctly when browser text size is increased up to 200%. No content is clipped or lost.
Visible focus rings are present on all interactive elements so keyboard users always know where they are on the page.
All pages work on mobile, tablet, and desktop. Touch targets meet minimum size recommendations.
Known limitations
While we work toward full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, there are some areas we are still improving:
- Complex interactive tools — Some tools (e.g. the favicon generator drag-and-drop zone, canvas-based tools) may have limited screen reader support. We are working on accessible alternatives and keyboard-based fallbacks.
- Third-party content — Any embedded content from third parties may not meet our accessibility standards. We minimise third-party embeds for this reason.
- Data tables — Some reference tables on tool pages are complex. We are adding
scopeattributes and summary descriptions progressively.
Testing and review
We test accessibility using a combination of automated tools and manual review:
- Automated checks via axe-core and browser DevTools accessibility audits
- Manual keyboard navigation testing on all core flows
- Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
- Colour contrast verification with APCA and WCAG contrast tools
Accessibility is reviewed whenever significant UI changes are made and as part of our standard QA process.
Feedback and issues
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on it.you, please contact us and select "General feedback". Tell us:
- The page or tool where you encountered the issue
- What you were trying to do
- The assistive technology and browser you are using
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and resolve confirmed issues within 10 business days where technically feasible.
